Personal Note Update

On a Personal Note, this Newsletter is completely personal. First and foremost, I hope this note finds you and your family all well and safe. Sarasota was so fortunate to have been spared a direct hit from Ian. Unfortunately the Northport area and south to Naples were not so fortunate. Our hearts go out to those who are dealing with life and property losses that are devastating.

I was lucky enough to drive to Boca Raton last Monday with my family and ride out the storm there. Driving back I got just a glimpse of the storm’s impact. Now back on my morning walk, there are downed trees and debris in Sarasota, but the sun is shining and the air is a cool 67 degrees.

On a more personal note, I was so thankful for the outpouring of concern. So many of you called, emailed, and texted to check in to make sure I and all those close to me were OK. Thank you for your support! It reinforced what I know all too well – health, safety, family and friends are what are most important.

Closing on a positive personal note. Typically, these 2 very positive milestones would go in my first of the year newsletter summarizing my Top 10. Sharing now that my family is expanding: Nicole and Alex are engaged and Daniel, Cristina and Ruby are expecting a new addition. Some very positive and exciting life events to look forward to!

Wishing you all health and happiness and resilience when confronting hard times.

…2021 yielded a career record year in both total sales & volume. Both big and small (and everything in between) transactions are all important to me and the combination of those transactions helped me reach $62+ million in sales for last year and $448 million since I began my real estate career over 3 decades ago in our wonderful city of Sarasota. And equally important are the relationships cultivated along that journey.

Dearest Friends and Clients,

What a year! As I walk the Ringling Bridge this gorgeous morning, I can’t help but look back on 2020 and focus on positive thoughts. We all know the challenges that the world and our lives have faced which will continue into 2021 and beyond. With that in mind, I am sharing my top personal positive notes for the year (not in order of importance):

  • I became a Grandma to Ruby (ok this was truly #1)
  • My son Daniel got married to Cristina and moved to Tampa
  • My daughter Nicole spent 6 months in Sarasota working from home
  • I achieved a personal best volume of real estate sales of over $42 million
  • I walked an average of 7.1 miles a day
  • My business was multi-generational and full of repeat clients and referrals
  • My business Team soared to new heights thanks to my incredible Executive Assistant Lela and Marketing Specialist Kelly, Webmaster Brandon and Construction Coordinator Nick
  • Thanks to the encouragement of my partner John, I took up golf
  • My Book Club brought books to my reading list that I never would have ventured to read
  • My Friends and Family continued to be there for me each and every day
  • I looked back to cherish so many great memories
  • I looked forward with hope for many more years of health, happiness, fulfillment and new experiences

The Florida real estate market continues to be a coveted place to call home with approx. 1000 people per day moving to the state. Sarasota was recently named the #1 place in the country to retire by U.S. News & World Report. We are seeing an approx. 49 days on market average and an upward trend in Jumbo loan applications as rates continue to sit around the 2.75% – 3% mark.

On a personal note, I have recently added to my list of favorite phrases “Thanks for the push.” Even the most focused and “on it” people sometimes need a push or a nudge to get going on a task that just seems to stay too long on their to do list. I got that push this morning from my Marketing Assistant who sent a gentle nudge text for me to focus on a marketing initiative that I have been working on. I will complete that task today! So now I am passing on that same push to all my clients who are considering the sale of their home. Inventory is down, prices are up and buyer activity is high!
